Not sure if this is opera’s strategy to get in to social networking with its browser based technology or the real effort in re-inventing the web. However, If this is going to be a success then there would be some impact on other industries like social networking and web hosting.

Opera has re-invented the web with its latest browser based application.
I have no doubts in the capability of their technology, even if there is any that would just get better over time.

As an individual, I am very much eager to see more application developments around this product that helps to cut cost and do the things at my ease without the need to abide by some corporate company rules and restrictions.

On the other hand, I guess that this will hit hard on the existing services like social networking & web hosting industries. Unless, they embrace this technology and create the apps that would again benefit their existing services.

With the introduction of the new Opera Unite, if one can have his own ways of social networking that is just based on his browser & computer and not relying on third party services then the chances of the existing social networking sites will go down.
