well, you can always save a .tel domain in a browser on the phone as a favourite currently, meaning your browser becomes your phonebook. Of course, we're discussing all sorts of options with telecommunications providers at present, but these things take time.

Hi Justin

Availability to blackberry/iphone/outlook users is great. But any plans on making this available to general mobile phone user? I have read the telnic roadmap but I guess I did not find anything related to my question.
I hope Telnic come up with a solution (may be team up with the mobile phone manufacturers to upgrade existing phone book capability to store .tel & etc) that does not require general mobile users to install separate app.

@pete
I have tried to check few of my friend's vanity urls, was prompted to login to view. So I guess those vanity urls will not bother (at least for now, as they are accessible only to logged users) in search rankings :-)

But if you have a business I would suggest not to rule out or give up any ways of promotion and use all possible and available resources to promote your business. Good luck

All of the applications that save .tel domains to address books for BlackBerry, Outlook and the iPhone, as well as ones that dial a .tel domain directly if there is one public telephone number, can be found on our website.

We've also recently launched a forum at http://telnic.org/forum/ where all of these questions can be asked, over and above the developer community site at http://dev.telnic.org

Justin

Somewhere in webnames.ca I have read something like "Save .tel address in your mobile phone just as you save a mobile number, and dial when you need". I have tried this but was unsuccessful.

If I am not wrong, at the moment .Tel cannot be accessed without a browser?

I have read in some forum that this is still under development. I think unless this is live, I mean accessing .tel just as a number via basic mobile will not kick start things.

I know .tel is not a regular website because of its capability to be accessed without a web/browser. My question is when can we see this capability in live?

Hi Vinod,

It's not entirely true to say that it won't show visits from mobile devices - indeed it does show visits using browsers and OS stats. What it doesn't do is show the traffic from the non-browser-based DNS lookups run from the Telnic and third-party applications such as Kiax and voipGATE.

One .tel owner on Twitter yesterday stated that over a quarter of traffic to his sites came from mobile devices.

Yes, you will need a third party analytics tool to view the results at present. We used 123webAnalyzer which shows some very deep information.

Now I see some potential in this extension.
Although I am not sure how detailed stats it provides.

Do we need third party webstatistics software to analyze this log file?

or its similar to the one we find in our server cpanel?
